Kyusu - Japanese teapot Iroiro Maru, 300ml
A kyusu is a traditional Japanese teapot known for its side handle that allows for easy and precise pouring. The term "kyusu" literally means "teapot" in Japanese, but is most commonly associated with these special side-handled designs known as yokode kyusu.
The side handle of a Kyusu allows for better control and a more comfortable grip, making pouring easier with a gentle wrist movement. This design helps prevent spilling of hot tea and ensures even pouring.
The integrated tea strainer keeps the leaves in the teapot while the tea is poured into the cup. The clay strainer is not a separate object, but is very finely incorporated into the teapot .
A kyusu is more than just a teapot; it is an embodiment of Japanese tea culture and craftsmanship . Its design reflects centuries of tradition and an unwavering commitment to the art of tea making, making it a treasured item for tea lovers around the world.
The actual capacity is about 350ml , but it is best to brew up to 300ml to avoid spillage when pouring.
This Kyusu is great for multiple infusions . Simply brew your tea, leave the tea leaves in, and pour in more water to brew it a second time.
